Our land

A warm, rich land, especially full of life since ancient times. It consists of 380 hectares of land, divided between 230 ha of olive groves and 150 ha of pastures and Mediterranean forest.

On this reddish-colored limestone terrain, with a privileged isolated location, our estate is situated in a unique enclave that offers spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Biodynamic Agriculture

From the beginning, we committed to ecological and sustainable production for the development of our activity, using biodynamic agriculture. This method was born at the beginning of the 20th century with Rudolf Steiner and proposes to rescue ancestral cultivation practices, with the aim of recovering soil fertility, also allowing animals and plants to coexist in symbiosis, with minimal human intervention. At Finca la Torre, we have been certified since 2001 according to the EC directive on organic agriculture and have held the Demeter biodynamic agriculture certification since 2006. (www.demeter.es)

One of the fundamental pillars of biodynamic agriculture is the use of compost as a dynamizing element of soil microbiological activity. At Finca la Torre, we extract this compost from the alperujo produced in our oil mill and from manure from nearby livestock farms.
Finally, the use of biodynamic preparations such as those made with cow horn and a specific calendar that recommends the opportune moment to carry out different agricultural tasks, complement the usual practices of this type of agriculture.
